Loewy, the fast growing marketing group, today announced that it has acquired branding
consultancy Branded. Founded by ex-Sky Marketing Director Philip Ley, Branded is a boutique strategic branding consultancy made up of top industry brand strategists.

Branded has an impressive industry standing, counting some of the biggest names in the UK as its clients including AOL, BBC, Boden, BT, Codemasters and Setanta. Branded has a growing body of international clients across Europe, the Middle East, the US and Russia. It will boost Loewy’s depth of branding capabilities and add to the company’s focus in TMT (telecoms, media and technology) and public sector.

The acquisition brings Loewy’s total headcount to 400 and projected revenues of £39m for 2008. It’s a key step towards Loewy’s corporate goal of creating a £100m world class company over the next three years. Loewy has already built up a creative powerhouse, bringing together specialist and complementary businesses across the branding, design and communications industries, bucking the industry trend of advertising-led Groups. The Branded acquisition is the first for Loewy this year and the sixth investment for the company since it announced its ambitious plans. It joins recently acquired communications businesses The Team, WMH, Epoch Design, Mantra PR, and Seymour Powell.

Prior to the acquisition, Branded had already worked with a number of Loewy operating companies on projects spanning employee engagement, marketing communications through to PR and digital projects.

Charlie Hoult, CEO of Loewy said: “Branded is a hot-shop of super-bright senior strategists with that unusual combination of business brains and branding panache. We’re already seeing tremendous synergies with several of our other businesses and experiencing a great crossover of clients. I’m thrilled to welcome them into the Loewy fold and am sure the acquisition will prove to be a premium growth engine for Loewy while delivering great value to clients.”

Philip Ley, Managing Director at Branded said, “Charlie and Loewy are kindred spirits. We have already experienced many successes together and we are expecting plenty more in the future. We are very excited to be part of the growing Loewy family.”

It is expected that Branded will relocate to Loewy’s office in Pimlico at the end of the year.
