Energy supplier BizzEnergy aims to improve billing clarity and consumer confidence with new billing format.
BizzEnergy, the UK’s leading independent energy supplier, today announces the introduction of its new bill format, designed to give customers a clearer understanding of the billing process. The initiative follows research in March from the Energy Savings Trust (EST), highlighting consumer confusion over energy costs and bills. The new BizzEnergy bill has been designed to specifically conform to Business Standards Institute (BSI) standards for layout and clarity of data and language.
The change comes following consumer feedback about the energy market and the lack of clarity and difficulties understanding bills and invoices. The new billing system is designed to minimise complaints around these issues. BizzEnergy has conducted a trial of the new format and due to positive customer feedback will now be rolling this out to all its existing customers.
First introduced in 2005, the BSI standards aim to ensure that customers can be provided with clearly comprehensible, accurate and timely bills and billing related information. The new format means the bill now contains a front page summary with key information, with subsequent pages providing a detailed breakdown and explanation of key areas.
James Constant, COO at BizzEnergy, commented: “We believe that our bills now set a standard for clarity in the industry. The recent EST research shows that many people do not understand their energy bills which is reflected in the sheer volume of complaints, and indicates that this is an area where all suppliers should focus some attention. At BizzEnergy we have listened to our customers and implemented these changes to meet their requirements.”
