Gael Ltd helps Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Trust with Quality Management

Two internationally renowned teaching hospitals in London and one of the first NHS Foundation Trusts, required a central electronic Quality Management System (QMS) to help manage their Trust’s departments’ processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance was achieved.

Q-Pulse from Gael Ltd, provided the solution. Designed and developed to support the operational activities of a company’s compliance management system, including audit management and document control, Q-Pulse is a UK market leader in compliance software for the healthcare sector.

Having already installed Q-Pulse within their Blood Sciences (Haemostasis) department in 2002, the hospital successfully addressed and overcame key issues including, a reduction on time consuming manual document control, and streamlining departmental processes and procedures. As a result of these benefits, the hospital upgraded to the Q-Pulse Enterprise Edition, and this was installed in a number of separate departments including, Cellular Pathology, Infection & Immunology, Specialised Laboratory Medicine, Genetics & Transplant Laboratories and St John’s Institute of Dermatology.

The installation of the Q-Pulse Enterprise upgrade will enable the hospitals not only to roll out access to their other departments, but also still allow individual departments to manage their own configuration and security.

Paul Gardner, Pathology Governance Manager at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital commented,

‘We were looking for an electronic Quality Management Solution for Pathology and were extremely pleased with how Q-Pulse helped our Haemostasis department at Guy’s & St Thomas’, so much so we recently decided to upgrade to the Q-Pulse Enterprise Edition. The ability of Q-Pulse to manage all our departmental information in a single solution is invaluable for us. We believe Q-Pulse will provide an excellent QMS for Pathology at Guy’s & St Thomas’.
