‘The South London Artists’ are a group of artists’ that have been exhibiting their art work for the last four years. Independently, each member has had success in their own individual exhibitions and also in group shows across the United Kingdom and in Europe. They have all studied and graduated from some of the best art universities in the UK from Camberwell School of Art, Wimbledon School of Art and The Royal Academy of Art. Their art work conveys a diverse range of ideas and use of media in sculptor, painting and photography. The new art work in this show looks at different themes such as landscape, still life, portrait and life drawing.

Some of the artist’s like Emma Jackson create beautiful paintings of the human form whereas Jane Draper’s produces stunning still life paintings of plants and other organic forms that are mesmerizing to look at. Frances Roche creates multi-layered landscapes that are poetic, beautifully executed and incredibly aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Other artist’s like Edward Smith investigate manmade and natural materials combining these two elements to produce impressive large scale sculptural work that invoke feelings of them being otherworldly creatures. The more abstract art can be seen in Ali Mirmak and Paul Cairns work both are interested in abstract art and colour. Ali’s collages remind the viewer of dramatic sceneries that are daring in stroke and form yet vibrant in colour. Paul’s 3-dimensional works have a bold, industrial look, which is emphasised through his strong use of colour.

So weather your interests lie in photography, painting or sculpture this exhibition has something to offer to all tastes and interests.
