The NFL hopes the on-field action at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa on Sunday, February 1 will be as familiar to UK viewers as the Bruce Springsteen hits they will hear during the halftime show.
“The league’s newly-launched website – www.coachstilo.com – is hoping to show new fans watching on BBC 1 and Sky Sports how to fully appreciate America’s biggest sporting event,” says Alistair Kirkwood, NFL UK Managing Director.
Kirkwood added: “By attempting to impress the coaches at a fictional NFL team, fans will be guided through the sport. The site shows in an entertaining manner how to watch the game, rather than bombarding people with rules.”
“We are making great strides in the UK and are selling tickets for the third game at Wembley in October, between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots. But we are not being complacent and realise we can use the digital platform to help explain a complicated sport to the rest of the world.”
