Iceland’s Keflavik International fourth best airport in Europe

Staff and regular customers of Iceland’s Keflavik International Airport last week had something confirmed that they knew already: namely that their airport is a good airport. Keflavik has been named Europe’s fourth best airport. Airports Council International based its decision on customer feedback on customer service, facilities, safety and many other aspects.

Keflavik International Airport’s services to its customers are some of the best anywhere, according to Airports Council International. The organisation runs the most thorough passenger service survey in the world; and this year Keflavik achieved the accolade of being Europe’s fourth best gateway – right on the heels of Porto in Portugal, Southampton in the UK and Zurich in Switzerland, which was in first place.

The Airports Council International survey is carried out on behalf of 127 airports the world over. Passengers rate the quality of some 30 different aspects of customer service and with interim results are published quarterly and full listings once a year.

Keflavik International was chosen the eighth best airport in the world with fewer than 5 million passengers annually and was in first place for the final quarterly interim report last year in several key areas.
