CloudBerry Lab has released CloudBerry Explorer v1.5, a freeware application that allows users to manage files in Amazon S3 buckets just as they would on their local computers.
CloudBerry Explorer allows end users to accomplish simple tasks without special technical knowledge, automate time-consuming tasks to improve productivity.
With CloudBerry Explorer, Amazon S3 becomes an extension to your local storage. You are no longer limited to the classic data storage on your local drive(s). With CloudBerry Explorer, you can move files to Amazon S3 just as easily as managing them on your local drive(s).
CloudFront Access log http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/ann.jspa?annID=440 is a recent addition to Amazon CloudFront service. It generates activity records that show you details about every request delivered through Amazon CloudFront. CloudBerry Explorer 1.5 added a basic support for CloudFront access log support that includes the ability to configure access log as well as view and analyze log files in an easy to read form in the tabular and graphical form.
Other new features include multithreaded object download, support for http://chilp.it/ short URL service, and support for BiTorrrent URLs. With custom http headers support you can control object caching and reduce Amazon S3 monthly charges. This feature will be mostly used for setting up Cache-Control and Expires http-headers.
CloudBerry Explorer is designed to work on Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Microsoft PowerShell command line interface allows advanced computer users integrate backup and restore plans with other routines.
CloudBerry Explorer 1.5 for Windows is a freeware. Amazon S3 charges are applicable.
