Chinese-English Online Learning Website Nciku Redesigns and Revolutionizes

Popular Chinese-English dictionary nciku has outdone itself again, this time with a visual makeover of its website and big improvements on its widely-used learning features.

Known for its refreshingly modern interface, nciku has revamped the website to look even sleeker and more user-friendly. Instead of having to search for links to different features, they are now all prominently displayed on the home page in clearly designated sections so users can search and find exactly what they’re looking for.

Among the improvements made to enhance user experience is the main navigation links to the top of the home page. In addition, some links that were previously hidden within other links, such as personal Vocabulary Lists, have now been brought to the forefront for easy access. More dynamic content has been showcased on the home page such as daily conversations, Chinese character animations, video and dictionary notes, recently updated content, popular vocabulary lists and more.

Major changes have also been made to the search bars on the Conversations and Q&A pages so that users will get results from the section they’re browsing instead of the main dictionary, so your results are more relevant. nciku’s groundbreaking handwriting tool has also been modified to reflect larger character sizes for easier recognition, particularly for those characters with a large number of stroke counts.

“These enhancements are just the latest in the ever-improving user experience,  said Dustin Choi of nciku’s marketing department. Previously, nciku wowed users with their technologically savvy website and innovative features such as nciku mini for mobile devices and flashcards for iPhones.

And despite the wealth of features, nciku remains a free site for its users. It’s no wonder it has user base reaching nearly 100,000 international visitors per month, and growing.

Currently, Nciku is known for being more than a dictionary with other features such as iPhone flashcards, Sentence Mode, Handwriting Recognition Tool, and Nciku Mini for mobile devices. Nciku was founded in April, 2007. Currently, Nciku is available in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese, but development is in process to add more languages in the future. The official website is www.nciku.com. For inquiries, please contact marketing@nciku.com.
