Tomy is calling for all entries into the UK Rummikub Championship. Rummikub is the unique, fast-paced numbers game of tile manipulation. Build “runs” or “sets” of numbers then recombine the tiles in different ways to achieve the highest score. One of the world’s most compulsive family games, it’s easy to learn and a challenge to master! The UK Rummikub Championships takes place every three years and the winner gets the chance to represent Britain at the World Rummikub Championships event held in Marbella, Spain in November.
The UK Rummikub Championship qualification games will be held online. To take part in the UK Championships please visit the Rummikub page on Tomy’s website and click on the World Rummikub Championship Banner. This will take you to a page where you can register to join one of the UK preliminary tournaments.
The preliminary tournaments are held online on the following dates:
1. Saturday 22nd August, 8pm
2. Friday 28th August, 8pm
3. Saturday 29th August, 8pm
The best players will be invited to play in the semi-final held online:
1. Saturday 5th September, 8pm
The eight highest scoring players will then be invited to the UK National Championships taking place offline in London at the end of September. They will also win a special edition wooden Rummikub and a selection of Tomy toys worth £25.
The UK Rummikub Champion will win the amazing opportunity to represent the UK at the World Rummikub Championships from 6th to 9th November 2009 which is held at the exquisite resort of Villa Padierna in Marbella. The prize includes travel costs and accommodation for two people, so the winner can enjoy a lovely weekend break with a chosen companion at the event.

About the World Rummikub Championship
The World Rummikub Championships takes place every three years. Rummikub champions the world over gather for four magical days of fun activities, social events and Rummikub. This year, the championships are held at the magical Villa Padierna Hotel, situated in one of the most beautiful enclaves in Marbella, Spain. This stunning hotel is built like a Tuscan palace, engraved in the beautiful surrounding of its own golf course and uniquely decorated to reflect the traditional life. Rummikub lovers from around the globe will gather in the Mediterranean sun, dine on a great variety of typical Spanish and international dishes, have fun, socialize and finally, and most importantly, compete for the title – the world’s best Rummikub player!
