Icelandair, Iceland’s flagship airline company, has already started its scheduled service between European destinations and Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA). Flights connect via Keflavik, allowing passengers the option to stopover in Iceland at no additional airfare. Icelandair now offers four flights a week departing Keflavik Airport at 17:00 GMT and arriving at 16:45 local time in Seattle.
In cooperation with Alaska Airlines, Icelandair is allowing for a host of onward connections to destinations in the western United States and Canada including: Anchorage, Calgary, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Vancouver.
Furthermore, Iceland’s international airport has been awarded as the best airport in Europe by Airports Council International. This allows passengers to travel with peace of mind and the opportunity to take advantage of the extensive airport facilities, warm atmosphere, friendly staff and easy accessibility of connecting flights. Iceland’s main airport shopping area hosts eighteen various duty free shops, selling both well-known products and Icelandic designs. Confectionary items, liquor, cosmetics and tobacco are also widely available. Furthermore to this, due to the favourable rate of currency exchange, Iceland is becoming cheaper by the day for visiting travellers.
