The award is designed to acknowledge the speaker who made the best contribution to the day and the winner is chosen by the audience. The latest International Search Summit saw presentations from some of the leading figures in global search however it was Jarboe who won the crowd over with his thoughts on harnessing the power of YouTube.
Greg is the author of YouTube and Video Marketing: An Hour a Day and is a strong advocate for the use of video in any online campaign. He highlighted the lower advertising costs on YouTube, compared to Google and advised using YouTube’s own keyword tool to maximise impact – with 24 hours of new video content uploaded to YouTube every minute, keyword optimisation is essential.
Video featured heavily on the agenda, with Bruce Daisley from YouTube offering insights into the potential of YouTube – and revealing that the video site is working on considering subtitles and embedded text as a ranking factor in the coming months.
Andy Atkins-Krüger, Managing Director of WebCertain who host the Summit says, “We’ve been fortunate to have some of the very best speakers and experts in the industry speak at the Summit, and we’ve introduced the Medallion Speaker Award in order to recognise those speakers that the audience believe really add value to the event.”
“Greg’s knowledge of video marketing is second-to-none, and he offered the delegates real insights into this increasingly important channel. He was a worthy winner of the award”.
Other speakers at the Summit included industry experts Bas van den Beld, Jon Myers, Anne Kennedy, Gillian Muessig, as well as in-house practitioners like Steve Capone of Nokia and Mark Neal from Armagard.
Andy added, “The speaker line-up at the event was very high quality and delegate feedback was extremely positive. It will be interesting to see who joins Greg as a Medallion Speaker at the next event – the competition is on!”
WebCertain is expected to announce the date for the next London Summit, which will be held in the autumn, within the next week.
