The Soho Grand and Tribeca Grand Hotels have launched their iPhone and web-based mobile app, bringing the Hotels’ celebrated downtown City Guide into the travelling hands of the consumer.
The GrandLife app pulls content from GrandLifeNYC.com, the Soho Grand Hotel and Tribeca Grand Hotels selectively curated cultural site which offers readers exclusive editorial content and a list of recommendations throughout the city. “It is designed to reveal the hidden side of all aspects of New York City culture; from art, film, fashion, music, and dining and nightlife. It’s an intimate introduction to the city as seen through the eyes of those who call it home” affirms Tommy Saleh, Creative Director and Editor in Chief of www.GrandLifeNYC.com
The app features recommendations, giving guests the address, cross streets, and subway access to each. The filter function can sort through the listings by criteria such as neighborhood, store type, atmosphere, cuisine, and price point. Icons indicate ‘recent openings’ and GrandLife’s ‘favourites’. The ‘My Itinerary’ function allows guests to create their own lists of places not to miss. The interactive Google map is geolocation based and pinpoints both the user’s current location and chosen destination, making for easy navigation. Guests can also opt for the ‘Nearby’ function, located at the bottom of each screen, which pulls up a list of stores, restaurants, bars, and museums within 0.5 miles of the user’s current location.
Also featured is GrandLife’s ‘Travel Tools’ which includes a currency converter, metric converter, and tip calculator. ‘Useful Info’ provides convenient information on airlines and airports, banks, car services, consulates and embassies, emergency numbers, NYC transit, lost credit card help, and a guide to top NYC landmarks. Hotel guests have direct contact to the Hotels via phone or email, in particular to the Concierge to help secure transportation, dinner reservations, or Broadway show tickets.
The Soho Grand and Tribeca Grand continue to introduce innovative ways to elevate the guests’ experience. With GrandLifeNYC and the portability and functionality of the mobile app, they have removed the physical boundaries of the Hotel properties and offer their guests personal access to an authentic downtown New York City experience.
