Wolf-Rüdiger Stahl will be joining the senior management team of MEP Group GmbH, a Munich-based investment company in large-scale renewable energy projects and part of the Strasser Group of Companies, as its chief financial officer and second managing director.
Together with Alexander Roß, the company’s CEO and first managing director, Stahl will drive forward with its business expansion and internationalization plans, as well as its core activities in project finance. “The appointment comes at an opportune time in our development,” noted Roß. “With the build-up of our business activities and our market positioning largely completed, MEP Group is now ideally poised for sustained, profitable growth.
As the former head of the project finance department at Landesbank Baden Württemberg (LBBW) responsible for renewable energy transactions (solar, wind, biomass, biogas and geothermal projects), Wolf-Rüdiger Stahl brings an extensive network of contacts, particularly within the area of photovoltaics, as well as many years of successful experience in examining, structuring, negotiating and executing capital market transactions in this field. While at LBBW he was responsible for managing a credit portfolio amounting to EUR 2.8 billion.
“I am delighted to be able to play an active role in shaping the future development of MEP Group. With its experienced and dynamic team, the company has already built an outstanding reputation for itself in the solar energy market,” said Mr. Stahl. “We would now like to broaden the size of our projects and move into other European countries beyond Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic.”
“We see our acquisition of Wolf-Rüdiger Stahl for the senior management team of MEP Group as testimony to our successful work in the solar power market. With his help, we will significantly expand our photovoltaic project portfolio over the next few years,” explained company founder Konstantin Strasser.
The Stasser Capital GmbH is an energy-issuing house that exclusively markets products from the area of renewable energies. Currently, the focus is on photovoltaics. The company give investors direct access to the most efficient photovoltaic project of its sister company MEP Group.
