National library of child health information in creation in English, French and Chinese by AboutKidsHealth.ca

The next generation of AboutKidsHealth.ca launches today and will be available in English, French, and Chinese. In the continuing effort to promote health education for all Canadians, the translation of the site means trusted health information will be available in both official languages and in the third most used language in Canada.

In partnership with BC Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of London Health Sciences Centre, and IWK Health Centre in Halifax, The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, is building a coast-to-coast collaboration in children’s health information through AboutKidsHealth.ca, a website that provides families with current, evidence-based and trusted information about children’s health.

Together with its partners, AboutKidsHealth.ca is creating a standardized national library of child health information that will be available online, in print, and as audio, video, and animated media. The AboutKidsHealth.ca information is available on the websites of each of the partner hospitals. The partnership with IWK was established more than two years ago, and their legacy site will soon be updated with all the new content that launched today.”

“Support from the Public Health Agency of Canada has enabled AboutKidsHealth.ca to extend our work by developing collaborations with paediatric hospitals across Canada,” said Dr. Ross Hetherington, Director of AboutKidsHealth.ca. “With support from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, we have been able to translate the site so that more Canadian families will have access to important information about children’s health and how to help keep their kids healthy and active.”
