Business development and marketing at Landsvirkjun strengthened with new recruits

The Icelandic energy provider, Landsvirkjun has recruited three new staff members in order to strengthen its base as a leader in the marketing and sales of renewable energy in Europe.

Landsvirkjun’s goal is to broaden its customer base by breaking into new markets, whilst retaining its current clients. The company has hired two new account managers and one business development specialist in order to strengthen and further develop the company’s marketing and business development.

Eyrun Gudjonsdottir has been appointed the new business development specialist at Landsvirkjun and will take responsibility for the analysis and development of trade related to carbon markets and green certifications; she will also act as a general consultant to the company. Gudjonsdottir completed her M.Sc. in international finance in 2008 and her B.Sc. in corporate law in 2005 – both at Bifrost University in West Iceland.

Stella Marta Jonsdottir has been hired as an account manager with responsibility for Landsvirkjun’s electricity sales on the wholesale market, as well as responsibility for a group of existing customers. Jonsdottir completed her PhD in engineering at Denmark’s Technical University in 1998 and holds an M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from the University of Aalborg (1991).

Rikardur Rikardsson has been hired as an account manager and he will take responsibility for developing trade connected to data centres, as well as maintaining relations with existing customers. Rikardsson completed his M.Sc. in electrical engineering (with special emphasis on wireless communications) in 2002 at Stanford University.

Furthermore, the new recruits will be responsible for the management of contracts and communications with current and expected customers.
