Inspired by Iceland to live stream Icelandic music festival

Inspired by Iceland is to stream the upcoming Icelandic music festival, Aldrei for eg sudur (I never went south) via its website, giving music fans across the globe a chance to watch and experience the festival in the comfort of their own home. The festival will be taking place on 22-23 April 2011 in Isafjordur, located in Iceland’s Westfjords.

Aldrei for eg sudur is a unique music festival, blending together live performances from local bands with the biggest names in the Icelandic music scene, all surrounded by the incredible scenery of Isafjordur. This year, artists scheduled to play include FM Belfast, Pall Oskar, Soley, Ensimi, Miri and Lazyblood, amongst others.

One of the things that makes Aldrei for eg sudur so special, and is no doubt a major contributor to its happy atmosphere, is the fact that the entire town gets involved. The festival is a true-blue labour of love, for all of Isafjordur’s residents donate their work, and admission to all festival events is free. The entire town vibrates with energy during the festival, and the enthusiasm and goodwill are truly infectious.

Inspired by Iceland invites music lovers to visit its website, www.inspiredbyiceland.com, starting on Friday April 22 at 8 pm and Saturday April 23 at 6 pm Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), to watch the live streaming of Aldrei for eg sudur.

Those who wish to invite their friends to watch the festival can send a free e-card with stunning photographs from Iceland, on www.inspiredbyiceland.com/stories/e-cards. Senders can choose their own message and greeting to surprise their family and friends.
