Iceland Airwaves announces Bjork to perform at festival

UK music fans will get the chance to catch Bjork perform at this year’s Iceland Airwaves music festival (taking place 12th – 16th October).

It has been announced that the much loved singer will be making a special appearance with her Biophilia live show twice during the festival, as well as another four intimate shows at the newly opened concert hall Harpa, in downtown Reykjavik.

During these unique live shows Bjork will be performing new songs from the forthcoming Biophilia studio album as well as music from her genre-defying back catalogue with a group of unique musical collaborators and a choir of 24 girls.

The show will feature a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments, among them a bespoke digitally-controlled pipe organ; a 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth’s gravitational pull to create musical patterns.

Bjork will be performing twice at the Iceland Airwaves music festival on Wednesday 12th and Sunday 16th October. The Biophilla show will also be taking place on Wednesday 19th, Saturday 22nd, Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th October at Harpa and tickets can be obtained for these shows via www.icelandair.is/bjork.

Furthermore, tickets to the concert can be added for £55 in the booking engine process of all Icelandair Holidays packages or afterwards by retrieving your booking.

Those who have already purchased a ticket to Iceland Airwaves have the chance to get into the shows on October 12th and 16th for free. 200 tickets for each show will be given out to wristband holders  / festival pass holders on a “first come, first served” basis on the day of each show.

Tickets go on general sale on 14th July at 12 noon GMT via, www.harpa.is and www.icelandairwaves.is.
