Achinos, Greece, 08 May 2012: A new app for iPhone and iPad called “Greece: History and Culture” is now available in the App Store.
About the creators: The app was created by two Greek brothers, Tassos and Dimitris Voulgaris. The two brothers, frustrated by the international image of Greece due to the economical crisis, decided to create this app in order to show to the world a different face of Greece. Why the app is not free then? All of our time is dedicated to the growth of this app and it would be impossible to create this app and evolve it, if we didn’t charge for it.
Tassos is a software developer and Dimitris an archaeologist and historian of arts, so between them there was the perfect blend needed for an amazing app to be developed. About the app: Take 350,000 years of Greek History in your pocket. The app will help you explore the History of Greece in depths and its suitable for history enthusiasts, researchers, students, teachers, second and third generation Greeks, and of course it is a must have, if you are travelling to Greece!
“Greece: History and Culture” is the perfect companion during your visit in Greece. Every time you stand in front of a monument or a museum exhibit that interests you and your friends, you can read all the needed information of the historical, social and cultural context of this period in Greek history and prehistory.
The app also features a complete timeline of Greek history, short bios of the most prominent Greek historical and mythological figures, “Stories”, a section with interesting events of the Greek past and a intergraded map with archaeological sites all over Greece. The app is in English language and it doesn’t need an Internet connection to work, because all its content is available offline.
