Travel in Iceland to be transformed by GPS audio tour guide

Travel in Iceland to be transformed by GPS audio tour guideThe recent launch of the new GPS audio tour guide My Way could transform how tourists travel in Iceland.

My Way combines modern technology with traditional storytelling; the guide works by mapping the geographical locations of the traveller during selected self drive tours, and recognises the position of the traveller’s car at any given time. My Way then plays audio specific to that location, such as facts and figures, history, and geography.

As the My Way audio device works like any other GPS navigation system, the commentary on the device starts and stops when its users stop travelling and automatically starts up when travelling recommences. This feature allows its users to leave the car, go for a walk, eat lunch, or just stop and rest at their own pace.

My Way offers three different preprogramed tours; Golden Circle tour; South Shore tour; and Reykjanes Peninsula tour. The device also fits in any car just like any normal GPS navigation unit.

Furthermore, the audio device has been commended for its user experience and innovational use of technology. It is available at Budget car rental, who has stated that it is one of its best selling travel aids.
