Norwegian Oil Company Statoil invited to invest in Iran’s oil and gas sector

Norway was one of the six countries invited to invest in Iran‘s oil and gas sector. Iran holds the world‘s third largest proven oil reserves and the second largest natural gas reserves. The oil reserves in Iran are estimated at more than 560 billion barrels, where 140 billion barrels are of extractable oil.

All the companies invited, Shell (UK), Total (France), Repsol (Spain), Inpex (Japan), OMV (Austria), and Statoil (Norway) have previous experience in working in Iran and now have the opportunity to participate in the development of the oil and gas projects in the country.

Iranian oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh is now working on changing the structure of the ministry‘s oil contracts with the aim of developing foreign investments in the sector.

With new projects on the horizon, Norway is now searching for talent. Many oil companies are recruiting through TUjobs.com, an online recruitment website that posts daily job vacancies. Here are some examples of this week’s job opportunities:

  • Technical Managers at National Oilwell Varco in Kristiansand
  • Support Engineer Navigation Systems at Experis in Sør-Trøndelag
  • Senior Pipeline Engineer at Rambøll in Oslo
  • Senior Engineer Instrument at Experis in Møre og Romsdal
