The Vice-President and Head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Dr. Masoud Soltanifar, recently discussed the opportunities Iran as a travel destination at the International Conference on Internet Marketing, Economics and Urban Tourism.
Dr. Soltanifar mentions that it was important for the country to maintain its uniqueness. Hamid Sepidnam, Founder and Chairman of the Board at Kaspid, mentioned in light of this, “Iran is not the next Spain, when it comes to tourism, the country needs to find its shields and use them well – it is not about quantity it is about quality!”
The International Conference on Internet Marketing, Economics and Urban Tourism was held earlier this month in 6 cities: Tehran, Karaj, Mashhad, Esfahan, Shiraz and Bandar Abbas.
In addition to addressing the main topics such as website optimization, internet marketing and branding through social networks, particular focus was made on the impact online tools on economic growth, increasing sales and expanding export markets, Internet entrepreneurship and branding of local companies based on successful global models.
In the above picture you can see Mr. Kristjan Már Hauksson, one of the speakers give Dr. Soltanifar a gift from his home country Iceland, a signed book, named “Faces of the North”. The book, by Iceland’s own Ragnar Axelsson, is a collection of his black-and-white photographs of vanishing ways of life in Iceland, the Faroes and Greenland taken over a period of fifteen years.
