milia is revolutionising the tax advice industry

Bonn/London, April 27, 2022 – For some time now, digitisation has advanced in many sectors, including in the area of tax consulting. milia is a new and virtual assistant, not only setting up tax offices digitally but also automatically in the future. The three founders have developed an innovative and groundbreaking product based on artificial intelligence that was previously lacking from the market. milia is already being used successfully by digitally leading tax consultants in Germany: thus creating more and more tax advice firms of the future.

milia is taking on a pioneering role and has set the course for establishing automation in tax advice offices. The need for medium-sized and large tax consultancy offices to automate processes is increasing. milia can use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse data, make intelligent recommendations for action and automate repetitive and tedious processes using robotic process automation (RPA). Here, the focus is on collaboration in order to optimise the respective resources together with the tax consultancy firms and to be able to advise clients in a precise and professional manner.

Thus making it possible to track processes precisely at the right time and to communicate with clients in a transparent way. “Within the next few years, artificial intelligence will not replace accountants, but accountants who use AI will replace those who don’t,” says Tilman Walch, CEO of milia. Automation technologies are the next generation of digitisation. For the first time, they may also be utilised in small and medium-sized tax advice firms. This is an opportunity for the entire industry to deal with future challenges and, at the same time, to transfer work processes into a new era. In doing so, however, milia will by no means replace human colleagues, but instead counteract a shortage of skilled workers and the high workload in tax consultancies.

Automating tax advice is merely the first step Collaborative workflows, automated processes and data analyses with intelligent recommendations for action are just a few of the features by means of which milia is revolutionising tax advice – the IT landscape of tax consultancies does not have to be changed, and data security is also guaranteed. With milia, the founders are pursuing a holistic approach and, thanks to a team of experts, are supporting tax advice firms in their transformation into “tax consultancies of the future”. Automated processes are merely the first step. milia will develop into an operating system for tax advice offices of the future and will represent added value for employees and clients.

These are the minds behind milia Tilman Walch is a technology expert and multiple entrepreneur. He gained experience in the tech metropolises of Berlin, New York and Silicon Valley, among others. He is also a founding member of the KI-Bundesverband through his former company and accompanied a Big Four company in the strategic use of AI. As a former tax official, entrepreneur and expert for digital tax advice firms, Michel Menk uses his know-how from over 300 consulting projects in the field of optimum tax adviceprocesses.

London-based serial entrepreneur Sascha Cutura is an expert in digital process automation and the CTO at milia. For more than 15 years, he has helped corporations to improve business processes using the latest and most innovative technologies. Together, they are pursuing the vision of taking tax advice offices to the next level using AI and automation, as well as placing an emphasis on consultancy. Thanks to this vision, the three founders will make tax offices fit for the future, with aspects such as sustainability and efficiency also playing a major role.

Numerous tax consultancies have already been awarded the specially created “Kanzlei der Zukunft” (tax consultancy of the future) seal. With a team of around 25 people, the start-up is already supporting numerous tax advice offices into an age of automation. The tax-tech company milia was able to establish itself on the market in a very short time and win over executives from well-known technology companies, as well as investors from the industry. The founders’ strong vision is clear: create the first virtual tax advice office. https://www.milia.io
