Icelandic Presidential Hopeful Baldur Þórhallsson Leads by 22 points.

Reykjavik, Iceland, 28.03.2024 – In a strong show of support, recent polling by Prósents, and as reported by RUV, has positioned Baldur Þórhallsson as the leading candidate in the Icelandic presidential race, signalling a historic shift in the nation’s leadership landscape. Garnering an impressive 37% of the public’s favour, Þórhallsson leads by a significant 22 percentage points ahead of his closest competitor, demonstrating a robust desire for change among the Icelandic.

Represents a new chapter in Iceland’s political narrative.

Baldur Þórhallsson, renowned for his profound contributions to political science and his unwavering commitment to inclusivity and equality, stands on the brink of making history. If elected, Þórhallsson, alongside his partner, esteemed actor Felix Bergsson, would represent a new chapter in Iceland’s political narrative and a meaningful step forward in global leadership diversity.

The recent survey, conducted from March 20th to 27th, reflects the sentiments of 1,950 respondents, underscoring a clear preference for Þórhallsson’s progressive and inclusive vision for Iceland. While 34% of the electorate remains undecided, this presents a unique opportunity for Þórhallsson’s campaign to engage with and galvanise an even broader segment of the population in the lead-up to the elections.

Embodies Iceland’s commitment to human rights and equality.

This potential presidency also embodies Iceland’s longstanding commitment to human rights and equality, echoing the nation’s support for diversity at the highest levels of governance. Þórhallsson’s campaign is not merely about policy but is also a beacon of hope and representation for marginalised communities worldwide.

As Iceland stands on the precipice of this groundbreaking election, Baldur Þórhallsson invites all citizens to join in embracing change and contributing to a dialogue centred on unity, respect, and progressive leadership. Together, we can usher in a new era for Iceland, marked by inclusivity, innovation, and global solidarity.

Interestingly, Mr. Þórhallsson led in the presidential polls in 2016—a position he hadn’t even thrown his hat into the ring for. Despite his absence from the race, Þórhallsson’s popularity and respect among the populace propelled him into an unintentional spotlight, showcasing the public’s admiration and perhaps a collective yearning for a leader of his calibre.
