Horw, Switzerland – February 27, 2025 – Torizon is pleased to announce a strategic collaboration with Texas Instruments (TI) to help manufacturers of industrial and medical devices navigate increasingly stringent cybersecurity regulations, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). This partnership simplifies security compliance while streamlining the development of connected embedded systems by leveraging TI’s robust, Arm®-based, Linux®-capable processors alongside Torizon’s modern software development environment.
As global security regulations demand frequent secure updates, Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs), continuous security monitoring, secure storage, and secure boot, this collaboration provides manufacturers with an efficient and streamlined approach to development and compliance.
With Torizon Security and TI’s advanced hardware security features—such as a dedicated secure enclave—manufacturers can achieve compliance with both current and future cybersecurity standards. The integrated full-stack solution includes secure hardware, software, and cloud-based services such as remote updates and security scans.
Torizon’s modern development tools, including the Visual Studio Code Plugin and OS Configuration Tools, allow engineers to rapidly prototype, deploy, and scale secure applications. These tools accelerate the transition from development to production for critical applications in medical and industrial automation, providing a competitive edge in the market.
By combining AI-capable hardware with an intuitive software ecosystem, this collaboration enhances developer productivity. The availability of software containers, real-time capabilities, and seamless integration with TI processors results in reduced development cycles and greater device reliability.
Torizon is specifically designed for mission-critical applications, offering multi-layered security and real-time support via Linux RT_Patch and Xenomai. Developers can also access TI’s onboard Arm Cortex microcontrollers, ensuring hard real-time performance where needed.
Torizon will initially support the following TI processors and development boards:
Later in 2025, support will expand to:
As part of this collaboration, Torizon and TI experts will present an exclusive webinar on how to simplify cybersecurity compliance and accelerate development for industrial and medical devices. Attendees will learn how to implement key security features, such as Secure Boot and OTA updates, on TI’s Arm-based processors.
