Norway’s oil industry is responsible for a large number of jobs in Norway. A report recently launched by Norsk Olje og Gass (Norwegian Oil Industry Association) has shown that the oil industry accounts for around 250,000 full-time jobs in Norway.
The large interest and investment in the oil and gas industry is attracting the next generation of Norwegian youth. A recent survey showed that almost half of Norwegian teenagers between the age of 15 and 19 years old are aiming for a career in the oil industry. The survey, conducted by Ipsos MMI – a research company, also showed the number of young people that now consider the offshore industry as an attractive option has grown by 7 percent in comparison to last year.
