This year the prestigious UK Search Awards were hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr at The Ballroom, South Bank on Thursday 30th November 2017. This was the seventh year for these awards, which are dedicated to celebrating the very best in SEO, PPC and Search software and innovation across the UK and Europe. The event was well-attended by the brightest agency, in-house, consultant and software minds in the Search industry.
DeepCrawl were delighted to have both a nomination and a win for the Best Search Software Tool category, alongside a surprise win for Jon Myers, who was awarded UK Search Personality of the Year.
This was a wonderful recognition of Jon’s achievements and everything he has dedicated to the industry over his career.
Here’s what DeepCrawl’s CEO, Michal Magdziarz, had to say about Jon’s spectacular win:
“There aren’t many people who would be able to influence so many in such a subtle way. Jon combines in-depth SEO knowledge and industry expertise with exceptional leadership skills and multidisciplinary experience, starting from marketing through to account management, and ending with sales. Not only has he given courage to the company, but also to every single one of us who have had the opportunity to work with him. I cannot express enough the impact Jon has had on the success of DeepCrawl in last 11 months.”
Jon’s friends and peers in the Search industry were absolutely thrilled by the news and didn’t hesitate to send their congratulations and best wishes, saying how well-deserved and long overdue the win was.
As a close friend of Jon’s, Rand Fishkin of Moz left this message in response to the UK Search Personality win:
“Jon Myers is not only a remarkable professional, but a wonderful human being. His kindness, capacity to accomplish difficult tasks, and undaunted will to see a better future become reality have made him one of the people I love and admire most in our field (or any). Jon has stumbled at times, he’s struggled. He’s known failure and frustration. But the difficult times haven’t dampened his spirit nor embittered his outlook. Instead, they’ve made him a more gracious, more accepting, more humble man. Perhaps the greatest professional praise I can give Jon is this: whenever I mention his name to others, “Do you know Jon Myers?” and the answer is yes, the next words are always a variation of “I love that guy,” or “Jon’s the best.”
I am often skeptical of awards — how they’re won, who’s considered, what criteria go into them. But by any measure, Jon Myers has earned this recognition 100X over. In my opinion, his win improves the reputation of the award itself and the organization behind it. Mazel tov to a great friend and a great man.”
