BizzEnergy appoints marketing director to support company vision

Ben Wooltorton joins from SimplySwitch to help redefine customer provision in the energy market.

BizzEnergy, the UK’s leading independent electricity supplier, today announces the appointment of Ben Wooltorton to the position of Marketing Director. Ben, who joins BizzEnergy from SimplySwitch, brings with him over 10 years experience in sales and marketing in the energy industry.
Ben joining follows the recent appointment of Stephen Taylor as CEO from Yahoo! Europe, which reinforces BizzEnergy’s ongoing commitment to shake up the energy market. Ben will deliver marketing campaigns to help drive a range of initiatives, including an e-commerce launch which will see BizzEnergy become the first business supplier to allow its customers to fully service their accounts online, as well as provide support for the planned move into the domestic market this year.

BizzEnergy is a market innovator in energy, supplying small and medium sized businesses with a range of competitive energy tariffs including several green options, as well as smart metering products to improve energy efficiency. The company is headquartered in Worcester with offices in London. Ben will be based in Worcester and will report to James Constant COO.

Previous to this appointment, Ben spent four years as Sales and Marketing Director at SimplySwitch during a period of rapid growth. In this role Ben established successful multi-channel marketing campaigns as well as growing significant commercial partnership programmes. His previous roles include Sales Performance Manager for npower and Project Manager at Sitel Corporation.

James Constant, COO BizzEnergy, commented: “Ben’s experience and knowledge of the energy industry makes him a valuable addition to our team in what is an exciting time for the company. We look forward to working with him and utilising his experience and ideas in helping us drive growth.”

“I’m excited to be joining such an innovative company at an important time in its development,” said Ben. “BizzEnergy has in place a bold vision and I look forward to being part of the team that realises this.”
