Reykjavík, August 18 2017
TripAdvisor and Reykjavik Excursions partner together to help travellers make their Icelandic experience even better and unleash the full potential of their trip.
TripAdvisor and Reykjavik Excursions will introduce fully co-branded buses that offer guests a VIP experience, enabling passengers to discover Iceland with all their senses, from Icelandic music to an authentic food experience – all of this on board of a bus while taking in the dramatic Icelandic landscapes.
The project for example includes the launch of the brand new “Unleash Iceland” day tour. The tour combines the Northern Lights, the Lava Tunnel and the iconic Skyr factory – an Icelandic yogurt now famous across the world – for the first time and offers a unique and incomparable feast for the senses. The tour will be exclusively bookable on TripAdvisor and Reykjavik Excursions’ website.
Anyone not currently planning a trip to Iceland will not have to miss out: The “Unleash Iceland” sweepstake offers a chance to win a “once in a lifetime” trip to Iceland, including flights, accommodation and 3 private VIP tours. The lucky winners will have a chance to experience Iceland like no one before – the first ever candle lit dinner in front of the fire heart of Iceland, a private helicopter flight, VIP luxury lounge access at the Blue Lagoon and an unforgettable overnight stay in a fully furnished VIP tent are just some of the many life changing experiences awaiting the winners.
„It is a great honour that TripAdvisor chose to collaborate with us on a joint campaign in Iceland and on building an exclusive day tour,“ says Kristján Daníelsson, Reykjavik Excursions managing director. „The project has been in development for almost a year, and TripAdvisor‘s staff has put a great deal of effort into the cooperation, as have we“, adds Kristján.
“As Iceland has become one of the world’s top destinations, we are pleased to partner with Reykjavik Excursions to help travellers make the most of their Iceland experience”, says Nicole Brown, Senior Director of Brand Partnerships at TripAdvisor.
Since 2010, Iceland has become an increasingly popular destination for travellers around the world. The country has a lot to offer in terms of once in a lifetime experiences, including seeing the world bubble around you in mud pools and hot springs, geysers exploding in front of you, cascading waterfalls falling into deep canyons or seeing the magnificent northern lights with your own eyes in the darkness of the Icelandic wilderness.
TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website was founded in February 2000 in Needham, Massachusetts, USA. Since then, the company has received more than 500 million reviews and opinions and gets 400 million unique visits each month.
Reykjavik Excursions – Kynnisferðir was founded in 1968 and is one of Iceland‘s oldest and most respectable day tour companies. It has operated the Flybus, the main transport link between Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport since 1979. In addition to offering a variety of day tours for almost every kind of travel, the company operates the Iceland On Your Own bus route network which is one of the most extensive in Iceland, Reykjavík City Hop On – Hop Off sightseeing bus, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car car rental.
The campaign will be introduced to representatives of the travel industry and the media next Friday, 18 August, at 15:00 at BSÍ Bus Terminal in Reykjavik Iceland.
