Family trips for October half-term with The Adventure Company

Around the Bay of Naples – 25th October – 1st November 2008

Climbing to the top of the legendary volcano Vesuvius and visiting the buried city of Pompeii are just two of the exciting activities on offer for families in Italy this half-term. This trip also includes a boat journey to the ‘Blue Grotto’ of Capri and the chance to learn pizza-making in the area the pizza was first invented. Families will stay for three nights at an agriturismo, a working farm producing local specialities like olive oil and limoncello and that is a great place for kids to explore.

Active Turkey Family Holiday for Teenagers – 24th October – 1st November 2008

Teenagers can be notoriously hard to please, so The Adventure Company has designed this action-packed trip specifically with them in mind. Families will spend two nights aboard a gulet, a traditional wooden sailing boat, cruising the turquoise coast and finding plenty of time for swimming and snorkelling. Later in the week, take sea kayaks to the sunken ruins of a submerged city and try scuba diving in the crystal clear waters of Kas.

The eight-day Active Turkey Teenage trip runs from 24th October – 1st November 2008 and costs £429 per person on a land-only basis. This trip is recommended for children aged 13 and over. Flight-inclusive prices are also available and may vary according to regional departures.

Tunisian Voyager – 24th October – 1st November 2008

Walk in the footsteps of gladiators in the Tunisian town of El Djem – home to the third largest amphitheatre in the Roman world – and explore the narrow, winding streets and souks selling all manner of trinkets and spices in Sousse. The highlight of this trip for many kids will be the journey across the barren Chott el Djerid salt flat followed by a camel trek to spend a night under the stars in a camp in the Sahara Desert. The final stop of the trip is in Djerba, the ‘Isle of the Lotus Eaters’, where parents can relax and kids can play on the beach.

The eight-day Tunisian Voyager trip runs from 24th October – 1st November 2008 and costs £499 per child and £549 per adult on a land-only basis. The trip is suitable for kids over the age of five. Flight-inclusive prices are also available and may vary according to regional departures.
